Services are below, but first.... We are very proud to announce our graphics were featured on the outstanding Dynaflite "Decathlon" constructed and reviewed by master modeler Dick Pettit for the September '99 issue of RCR.
I read "R/C Report" and was just about blown away when I saw the cover of that September issue... Without a doubt, this is the best R/C magazine going, and not because of just that fact; there's more to it than mere glitz. The book has true substance! Ya want proof?? Sometime back, a copy of RCR gave it's all to save my computer system. You have NO IDEA how much coffee its pulpwood paper pages can soak up if put to the extreme test. RCM, MAN, FM, MA, even the "quicker-picker-upper"; all would have failed me. Many thanks, Gordon and Dick.. Sadly, "R/C Report" has succumbed to the failing economy and recently closed their doors.... I produced RCR's website for over eight years, and will sorely miss my association with Gordon Banks, the most honest magazine editor with whom I ever dealt. He's pretty good behind a camera, too....:) We also did the wing graphics for Bruce Tharpe's award-winning beauty, the "SHOCKWAVE!", a DynaJet powered screamer that later begat BTE's new "Vortex" flying wing kit. The "SHOCKWAVE!" is featured on the cover of the Feb. 2K issue of RCM (also now defunct), shown below.
No offense intended to RCM, but this picture would never have made the front cover of R/C Report, as part of Gordon's criteria is the plane must be more beautiful than the girl holding it... BTW, See Bruce's new "Monsta-sized" Super Flyin' King On my "Examples" page. It's a sho'NUFF big-un...... Let's get back to work now... Hey, let's see some of what you do, first..... Modelers & Hobbyists.. (Especially Have you tried using pre-spaced vinyl lettering?? Your support for the vinyl lettering service I offer has been amazing, and I owe many thanks to modelers belonging to the AMA, IMAA, IMAC, IRCHA, NAR, NAMBA, IMPBA, MAAC, ROAR, PAMPA and others all over the world... I do thank each and every one of you... AND, because of that support... FLASH!! 8/2/00--- I am happy to announce I have just added ANOTHER brand new, MUCH larger cutter/plotter to the fleet! My cutting and design capability and product quality have been increased dramatically! I have also invested in "FlexiSign", the finest software avaliable to the signage industry, and the benchmark to which all others are compared. I've been around the pattern a few times now, and I have established a rapport with an EXCELLENT supplier whose vinyl media and other supplies provide as fine a finished product as can be found. BUT.... I PROMISE THE PRICES WILL REMAIN THE LOWEST YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE.. THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS, BUT A SERVICE I RENDER TO OTHER HOBBYISTS LIKE MYSELF!! If you have a need for high quality vinyl lettering in sizes ranging from a height of 3/8" up to 11", I can probably acommodate you using one of the fonts listed below... (any TrueType OR PostScript font, actually, but the bolder fonts like these work best, as they have more surface area and tend to hold better...) And, yes, I can cut lettering smaller than 3/8", but I won't, because it's almost impossible to weed out the excess, and the tiny letters won't stay in place very long anyway, because the required surface area is simply not there... It's a lose/lose situation, so let's not go there, unless we must. Not familiar with pre-spaced vinyl lettering?? Read my FAQ. It will fill you in on the details... Lettering is available in Gloss black, Gloss white, Insignia red, Insignia blue,Medium blue, Hunter green, Bright yellow, Cub yellow, Silver and Gold... Often, I have other colors. I maintain a website for a local signery, and am often given the "dropoffs" from large jobs. As this supply is somewhat sporadic, I list none of the oddball colors I may have. But it doesn't hurt to ask, if you have the need. My new software will allow lettering to be modified in just about any way imaginable. I am really excited by all the new possibilities avaible to us now.... I'm learning as I go... If it can be done in vinyl, this prog can do it! This is not a commercial venture, rather it is only an offer to help other hobbyists to achieve their desired goal economically... Regarding the two "military" style fonts at the top of the list, "Amarillo USAF" is an exact reproduction of the typeface currently in use by the U.S. Army and Air Force, and on many civilian aircraft as N-numbers. It has 45º corners and a 3 X 2 height to width ratio. The Amarillo font is quite similar to the N-numbers used on the Piper J-3 "Cub" but in reality the shape of the numbers is different in all of the numerals except the "0" and the "1". If you desire numbers for a J-3, be sure to ask for "J-3 CUB" numbers. I have created a set that matches perfectly. Other models of the "Cub" use slightly different shapes in a few of the numbers, but I have them on all file and can reproduce them accurately. Just specify the model & scale of the "Cub" you wish to replicate and we'll go from there. The "Long Beach USN" font accurately reproduces Navy and Marine text and is not commonly available. It has 30º corners, a slightly narrower stroke, and a little wider pitch than does "Amarillo USAF". This font has just been released and I have licensed it for my use. ~~~~~ SAMPLE FONTS ~~~~~ (Please note I had to use .gif images to display these samples, as computers that do not have the font installed may not see it properly. The actual cut lettering is MUCH smoother than these images indicate. It appears the same as scalable TrueType and PostScript fonts....) If you have another font you'd like to use for your lettering, let me know. I have thousands of fonts on CD-ROM.. If I can't find the exact one you need, you can send me the Windows TrueType or Adobe PostScript font you'd like to use as an email attachment (unless that's not legal; be advised some fonts DO belong to others), and I can work from that.

"What's so great about this?", you ask... Well, Weedhopper, I can slip these images into my vinyl graphics prog, tell the program how big the wing is, and work with images and lettering scaled to fit, as big or schmall as we want. When
the layout looks good, all we hafta do is cut the vinyl... Howzat fer SLICK??? I wish EVERYBODY in the model biz used these drawings in their manuals.... |

This unique service will allow you to pay for internet purchases INSTANTLY using VISA or MC credit cards, if that is your preferred method of payment, to just about anyone, including little guys like me who otherwise could not afford to accept credit cards, because of the exorbitant rates they charge the little guys like me to make money for THEM. I make all my own lettering & graphics for my own models (names, AMA numbers, etc.) You can see examples of the machine's output in the Photo Gallery at my home page. See the Citabria, the Extra 300, the "Hoover" Mustang, the Easy Fly 40, the Cierva C.4 gyrocopter, and the Pitts Special for a few examples... Use your "BACK" button to return here.. The thing is, having a machine such as this is kinda like growing vegetables in your backyard; just as you always have more veggies than you can possibly eat, I wind up with a lot more vinyl on hand than I really need because I must buy it in pretty large quantities.... So, I'm offering to cut lettering for other hobbyists. Also, helping others helps me, because it allows me to keep fresh vinyl media on hand. Plus, it gives me a great deal of satisfaction to know I can help others... I like people! This stuff is great for applying names or other forms of I.D. to just about anything... Some of the uses my friends have come up with for the lettering are for airplanes (models, obviously, but on the full scale ones, too), boats, bikes, cars, canisters, cabinet doors, camping gear, coffee cups, frequency pins, garbage cans, helicopters, ice chests, lawn equipment, parts bins, mail boxes, power tools, rockets, sports equipment, school bags, tackle boxes, tool boxes, toys, trucks, xylophones and zithers... Actually, I just threw in the last two, so I could say, "From A to Z.......;-) I do this lettering in my spare time and charge just enough to support the equipment and buy materials.. If you think I may be able to help you with some of your projects, just drop me an Email.. I'll answer you promptly... Contact Information: Internet:
